Pia Pauro continued her Tribal Chic mood that we saw in her last collection. On Day 1 of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive, the designer showcased her "Espiritu de Mexico," collection inspired by Mexican folk and tribal aboriginal art prints. The glamorous star of the hit Bollywood film ‘Dhobi Ghaat’ Monica Dogra closed the show in a silver beaded jumpsuit.
No holiday packing this year can be complete without one of Pia Pauro's creations. Take your pick from exotic jungle dresses, sexy swim wear and shorts, breezy sundresses and cool kaftans. The clothes had the marked influence of the ancient ruins of the Olmecs, Mayan and Aztec empires along with hints of the rainforests and the beaches of Tulum and Acapulco.
Pia Pauro gave life to her clothes with organic with cotton, georgette and jersey. Really liked the organic bamboo button detail.
The evening attire consisted of power minis and glam gowns, some fully embellished with beads and gold embroidery in the Mexican motifs. Embroidered shorts, fitted pants and printed frilly blouses made for some exciting seperates for a holiday.
A capsule collection of menswear followed the theme of the show, with comfy cotton pants, printed shorts, brightly coloured shirts making a relaxed style statement.
