Self-Care Chronicles: Discovering the Path to Inner Well-being



There is this audio by Fabienne Bethmann that is trending on Instagram which says, "Selfcare is not selfish. It's necessary." Loved the thought behind it, so decided to pen down my idea of selfcare.


Acceptance of the fact that I can’t control what people say or do, but I can control how I react to them. And more importantly, how much time I spend thinking about what they did and replaying the events in my mind.


Other than that, here are some things that help uplift my mood.


Journaling: Mine diary reads more like random lists, but it helps me declutter my mind and focus.


Music: Pop, Punjabi or Peppy… just something in the background to keep the vibe happy.


Girlfriends: The kinds I meet and never really remember to take photographs with.


Caffeine: A strong and chilled cup of coffee in the morning!


Walking: Long walks outdoors, exploring one park in Delhi after another.


Chilling: Unwinding with absolute junk… line up all the reality TV for me to watch. As much as I love a good thriller, I find myself trying to solve the mystery in my dreams or I don’t sleep till I don’t finish watching the entire show.


Me-time: Long showers with scented candles before bedtime.

Sleeping: Podcasts with the sleep timer work much better for me than any sleeping app.


Dancing: The kind when you let go like no one is watching. Need to do this more often.
