Carlton Hotel Baglioni ~ Milan

Absolutely loved Milan! If shopping is the main agenda of your holiday there is no place like Milan. I really enjoyed my stay at the Carlton Hotel Baglioni. Location, location, location" there is no better way to describe this hotel. Situated in the heart of all the shopping with a door leading you out directly on to Via della Spiga (one of the main streets of the famous Golden Quad). 

Over my three day trip I didn't needed to take a cab/metro for anything. All main attractions are within ten minutes walking distance of the hotel even though technically as per my trusty Lonely Planet guide they fall in different neighbourhoods. The concierege is great and will guide you on the shortest walking route to any place you like. Ask for the hotel's shopping map with a detailed list of stores and their locations. :-) They were also able to arrange for us to see Leonadro Da Vinci's Last Supper in a day's notice. 

The food at the hotel is yummmm. You have two options - speciality restaurant and a bar/terrace restaurant. Although, you will mostly end up eating out in one of the many cafes. The only downside was that the room service isn't 24 hours and has very fixed timings. Past a certain hour, they only serve cold food, which wasn't great for my midnight cravings. 

All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I'd highly recommend the hotel :-)
