Satya Paul hosted the Young Ladies FICCI organization (YFLO) for an afternoon of coffee and conversation to discuss, 'The Saree.' Sharing with you editor's notes on some innovative sarees designed by Satya Paul:

The ‘Trouser’ Saree (AW’02): Hand painted fabric was draped over structured trousers to ensure comfort for the wearer. Textile fabrications were that of confident brush strokes  in order to compliment the modern drape

The ‘Hexivaram’ Saree (Bridal Collection, 2009): This collection took inspiration from the ornate Kanjivarams of South India, which were recreated through high-quality digital prints on fine silks

Masaba Gupta will showcase her debut collection for Satya Paul with the opening show for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. Here is a look at Sonam Kapoor wearing one Masaba's creations for Satya Paul just days before the showing on March 13, 2013.

While the graphic print saree is bright and beautiful, what I loved about this look is the bib collar blouse. Not that a saree needs one, but this rounded collar adds a really feminine touch.:-) Would love to see more of these bib collar blouses specially in embellished variations.

Uber cool and a little tricky, looks like the neon trend is here to stay. Anita Dongre has introduced a collection of sarees in neon shades that instantly pop. The sarees have been made using light weight fabrics such as georgette, silk and chiffon with minimal embroidery. I particularly like the ones in coral and lime green and think they would be perfect to wear to an afternoon Mehendi function
