Fuss about Facial Oils
Over the last few months I have seen all my favourite beauty bloggers include facial oils in their skincare routines. At first, I was not sure about the idea of applying oil on my face, but then decided to do some research.
Turns out, facial oils aren't some new breakthrough. They have been used as home remedies for decades. Simple kitchen preparations that are being called by some as the "ultimate skin secret." All beauty giants are now selling and pushing these natural formulas. Having used one over the past month, I have to say, I am now a convert.
My first experience with a facial oil was by chance as I was out of my moisturiser and used a facial oil sample at night. While I wouldn't really see or expect any change on my skin overnight, I was surprised to find my skin looking a lot less tired in the morning. While a good moisturiser shows results in a few weeks; a facial oil is certainly much faster.
An oil glides over the skin leaving it feeling smooth instantly. It instantly refreshes the skin with just the right amount of shine. You can also wear it under make-up as it doubles-up as a good primer. A lot of oils are also known to have anti-ageing properties, which never hurt anyone did they?
I would describe a facial oil as a highly concentrated formula and there are a few things you should keep in mind before applying it. For starters, I would highly recommend shopping as per your skin type as different oils have different reactions. A small amount is all you need and applying excess may cause a breakout. Take care to read the instructions, as some may only be suitable for the night. You also need to remember to apply an SPF over the facial oil during the day.
I would love to know about your experience with facial oils so please do leave your comments in the section below.
