Updated Skincare Routine
I shared pictures of beauty goodies that I picked up recently on my snapchat and had so many people take screenshots that I figured it was time to do a post on my current skincare regime.
Featured in the picture above are all the products you will find on my bathroom vanity right now and you should continue reading to find out why:
BIODERMA Sensibio H2O
If you have sensitive skin like me, you'll appreciate this cleansing water from Bioderma. Although it is too hot (and sticky) to wear make-up; this product helps gently remove the occasional kajal, mascara, eyeliner and lipstick I have been wearing.
L'OCCITANE Néroli & Orchidée Body Milk
Given the unbearable humidity, I prefer a light moisturiser such as this one from L'Occitane. I also love the fact that the fruity-floral fragrance is not too overpowering. Besides, I am yet to try a product from L'occtiane that I didn't love.
KIEHL'S Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner
I know it feels like another step in your morning routine, but you will only really see the difference a toner makes, once you start using it regularly. I find most toners feel a bit harsh but that was not the case with this one from Kiehl's. I find myself constantly repurchasing it and haven't been tempted to try one from a different brand since I have started using this one. It can be used for all skin types and has a soothing effect.
SOAP & GLORY Clean Girls Body Wash
I enjoy using Soap & Glory even more so because of their fun packaging and quirky product names. Love this body wash as it contains natural vanilla and makes a quick rich lather.
KIEHL'S Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser
I ended up buying this few months ago as my trusty L'Occitane Angelica Cleansing Gel was out of stock and I am mighty impressed. It works well to remove dirt from my sensitive skin, without drying out my face. A tiny amount makes enough lather for your entire face; making this really good value for money.
AVENE Thermal Spring Water
I tend to walk around a lot in the sun and often enough my skin gets irritated. A light sprits of this thermal spring water helps calm and sooth my skin. Great alternative to feel refreshed if you don't want to wash your face repeatedly or are on the go.
LA ROCHE-POSAY Anthelios XL
I have been using this sunscreen for years, it was recommended to me by a dermatologist and I believe her exact words to me were "you are allergic to the sun." For an outdoorsy person such as myself, those are not words you want to hear. Luckily I manage just fine by taking precaution and protecting my skin.
This is by far the best sunscreen that I have used. It has a high SPF of 50 and lightweight. You don't end up looking ghostly white or grey; nor does this have a greasy feel. It goes on really well under make-up as well.
L'OCCITANE Angelica Eye Roll-On
First things first, I do have dark circles under my eyes and no this does not get rid of them. Then why do I continue to use this? At end of a long day that has been spent staring at a computer screen, this goes a long way to give a cooling effect and reduce puffiness. Often, I apply this half an hour before I start getting ready to go out at night and it helps in getting rid of the tiredness. I certainly look and feel more awake after using this eye gel.
KIEHL'S Ultra Facial Cream
Another great product that is ideal to hydrate the skin in this horrid weather. It leaves the skin looking and feeling a lot healthier. On most days you will find me wearing this, my sunscreen and a lip balm. My only gripe is that is finishes really fast and that is a bit of a stinker on the pocket.
FORESST ESSENTIALS Facial Treatment Masque Nourishing Mysore Sandalwood & Nagkesar
The last two products on this rather long list are ones that I use on days I feel like my face needs some TLC (read I have time to spare). I love the Forest Essentials product range but don't end up buying them due to the fragrance. Not that there is anything wrong with scent, it is just a personal preference. This face masque on the other hand smells really nice and leaves the skin feeling refreshed.
FOREST ESSENTIALS Revitalising Kashmiri Walnut Gel Scrub
I love face scrubs and body scrubs. It is usually what I prefer to opt for at spa, even over a massage. This scrub is great if you are looking for something that exfoliates but isn't harsh on the skin. The addition of aloe vera which forms its gel base, give this scrub a unique texture. While it works to remove dead cells and impurities; it feels non-abrasive.
