Gladiator Stomping In Greece
The best of pictures and videos don't do justice to Greece. I just celebrated my husband's birthday over a short break in Santorini and Mykonos. To say that I have been blown away by the place is an understatement. Both the islands are spectacular and a delight for any traveler.
Wore this outfit for a dinner in the Oia village in Santorini and shot these pictures with the sun setting. As you are walking on uneven paths in Oia, comfort is key. For my dinner date, I opted for an animal print dress from Rachel Roy. It has got metal studs for buttons going up the side, a black braided drawstring at the waist and pockets. I threw over a silver leather sling with a cutesy bow from Salvatore Ferragamo. You can see my Lulu DK Flash tattoo on my arm, usually the only bling on me while I am on vacation. I finished the look with these snazzy gladiator sandals.
This outfit for me was all about the shoes. I've been obsessing over gladiator sandals for a few months now, but just couldn't find the right pair anywhere. I finally found them at the Stuart Weitzman store in fifth avenue in Manhattan and believe it or not I bought the last pair in this style. I am in love with these Sparta Sandals from Stuart Weitzman, this dinner was the first time I wore them.
The gladiator sandals trend has been going strong since last summer and I have just joined the bandwagon. The most commonly found version of this style of shoes has got elastic straps and a side-zipper, which works really well for girls with skinny legs. If your legs are comparatively thinner than the rest of your body then these shoes will make them appear fuller.
My weighty-issues have never stopped me from experimenting, however, I make sure to wear pieces that work well on my body type. Instead of opting for the shoes with the elastic bands, I found a pair that have strappy laces. The best thing about the leather laces is that I can adjust them to give me a custom-fit.
Gladiator sandals look super stylish and adds loads of drama to any look. I have worn these shoes with a skirt, but I bet you they will look just as cool worn with a pair of denim shorts and a flouncy top. For a super sexy look upgrade to the heel version. If you will be investing in one pair of statement shoes this season, make sure its the gladiator.
