A Day In The Life Of A Blogger With The Asus ZenFone 5
To put things in context, I am a complete Apple person. I have been using a MAC since college and currently, I have an iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV, iMac as well as a Mac Book Pro. And, no I am not some gadget freak, I am just freakishly dependent on these gizmos to get me through my day.
Naturally, when the Asus team reached out to me and sent me their new ZenFone 5, which is an Android phone, I couldn't help but wonder, if I'd be able to manage for even one day. Surprisingly, the android interface wasn't as complicated as I expected. It definitely took a bit of getting used to, but navigation became second by the end of the day.
The most important things for me in a phone are battery life and camera. As a blogger, I rely heavily on my phone's camera to take pictures and with so much zipping around town, I don't get to charge my phone in the middle of the day. So, I decided to put the Asus phone to the test and here is one day out of my life, captured with the Asus Zenfone 5.
I usually, sort through my mails and set posts to publish in the first half of the day. I find myself making less errors when I write in the mornings, so I begin my days glued to my desk. I usually head out in post lunch and on this particular day, I had a meeting. But first let me take a selfie...
A phone without a selfie-cam, just won't cut it these days. The Asus ZenFone 5 has a front and rear camera. The front or selfie-cam on this phone is a 2 mega-pixel camera. While the phone is quite big in size, I was able to use it with one hand, clicking with the buttons on the side.
The camera is packed with features including several filters and photo-editing tools. You can even adjust your makeup using the Beauty mode in real time. :-)
A big part of my blog is sharing stories from the latest happenings from around town. I make sure to take pictures for my OOTD posts before heading out. I ended the day with the star studded, 10th Caring With Style Event. An evening of music and fashion, to raise funds for the Cancer Patients Aid Association.
A good phone is the only way for getting good shots at an event and posting them to social media in live time. Depending on the type of event, the lighting and setup are completely different.
Off all the events, it is really tricky to get good shots at a runway show. The lighting is unpredictable, you could be seated really far and you are trying to capture the details on the clothing with models sashaying down the ramp.
The shot above was taken using the zoom. The rear view camera is an eight mega-pixel camera.

Highlights from Manish Malhotra's show taken using the Asus ZenFone 5.
The phone's camera was able to take a bright picture. Love that it captured all the colours.
This Manish Malhotra piece was my favourite look of the night. I am quite happy with this picture.
Best of all, I made it through the day without needing to charge the phone. The phone also has a 'power saver' function, that you can switch to if you need to use the battery conservatively.
