2015 Favourites ~ Primers
If you were to ask me, I am not sure I can clearly articulate what a primer does. All I shall say is that you need to try a good one and then see the difference for yourself. Here are four that I simply couldn't do without in 2015:
Hydrating Face Cream + Eye Cream
I don't remember what it is like to put make-up on without these two creams. They work like moisturisers and primers both, so I am done with just one step. They are a bit expensive, but you only use a tiny bit at a time. I even use these on some days that I can't find my regular moisturiser. One bottle lasted me about six months.
The eye cream deserves a special mention, as it solved the problem of my concealer creasing. It hydrates the under eye area, helps blend the concealer and keeps it from cracking. Do I really need to say more?
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
I bought this Primer in Dubai along with one of the Naked eye shadow palettes. The Urban Decay eye shadows in particular have a lot of fallout and need a primer underneath. I have started using this under all of my eye make-up and find that it does help in making the colours pop and stay on longer.
Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer
I was horrified to see my shinning nose in some of my YouTube videos for Lakme School of Style. I picked this up from the Sephora in Soho and my oily t-zone issues have been resolved. I apply this over the moisturiser but only in the areas that I need it. Hands down one of the best mattifying primers in the market.
