Vibrant New Watch Straps From Officine Panerai
I have always loved the Panerai watches for their unique and minimalist dial. Their new colourful straps were on my wish list for a bit, so I finally went and checked them out at the Panerai store at the Taj hotel in Mumbai last evening.
The colours are just as amazing as they appear in the pictures. Stunning red, green, blue, pink, Bordeaux, orange, yellow, deep red, dark pink and violet, each more attractive than the other. Adding loads of personality to the simple and sophisticated Officine Panerai design.
Finished in alligator leather, these straps are exquisite and distinguished by the large regular scales crafted according to the TEC standard (Toutes Écailles Carrées: rectangular scales only). "The raw material comes from monitored farms in Louisiana in the United States, which operate in compliance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) agreed in Washington DC in the 1970s."
Another element which is testament to the high manufacturing standards is the special technique known as rembordé. By using this technique Officine Panerai straps feature an upper leather is accurately folded and sealed round the edges of the strap, providing greater resistance to creasing and wear. Additionally the soft natural leather internal lining can breath, making it resistant to humidity (we all know how much we need that in this horrid weather) and very comfortable.
These coloured straps in alligator are available for the Radiomir 1940 (diameter 42mm), Luminor 1950 (42mm) and Luminor (40mm). Obvious as it might seem, I love the pink.... However, I am debating between the blue and green strap as a gift for my husband... hmmm... Any suggestions?
