Lakme Fashion Week W/F 2014 ~ Opening Night
Amit Aggarwal at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014
Amit Aggarwal's show at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 was everything I was expecting and more... The futuristic theme that was saw in his previous work continued into the designer's current collection.
The colour palette was deep, dark and dramatic with black, red, navy, jade taking over the stage. While the creations had hints of masculinity, the plunging necklines, hints of shimmer and use of sheer make them ultra glam.
The soul of the collection was the weaving technique used in the garments. Amit Aggarwal's interpretation of this age-old technique had social media buzzing. The effect on the runway was modern and stunning.
Jewellery has been a talking part across all of this season's runway shows. Amit Aggarwal also opted for standout ear cuffs and hair ornaments to compliment his outfits.
The diva herself, Sushmita Sen walked the runway dressed in super snug black outfit. Looking every bit the show stopper.
Masaba Gupta Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014
Masaba Gupta has become synonymous with print; both for her eponymous label and her role as the Creative Director of Satya Paul. She creates inspiring visuals with mundane items and this season was no different.
Her latest collection 'Wanderess' is inspired by renowned poet Roman Payne's character Saskia, a goan woman who is adventurous and free spirited. I'll remember this collection for the vibrant burst of flowers.
Shilpa Shetty walked for the designer in a cutout dress and dramatic eye-makeup. Clearly, one trend to look out for this season is the cat eye.
