BMW India Bridal Week 2014 ~ Ashima Leena
Ashima Leena showcased their collection 'Jashn' on Day 2 of the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2014 at DLF Emporio in New Delhi. I have seen a lot of their shows over the last three years and I have to say this show was the best of the lot.
The runway was decked out in real sand, symbolic of the Arabian desserts. Models walked the path to depict the story of a traveling caravan of royal indulgence. Live music with Gaurav Raina of Midivial Punditz, vocals by Kutle Khan and Pandit Ajay Prasanna on the flute, transported the audience to a land far away.
They won me over with their peacock colour story. Loved it for the innate "Indianness" and perfect balance between elegance and vibrance. Ujjwala Rawat was stunning as the showstopper with a spectacular multi coloured, full circled lehenga choli part of the same colour story.
My take away from the show:
- Have to have something in the stunning peacock hues
- Traditional Indian clothes are a timeless addition to your wardrobe
- When in doubt you can't go wrong with pairing red and gold
- Hand embroidered floral motifs
