THE ORANGE

Recap the Spring 2014 runway shows and you'll be amazed by the amount of orange lip colour you'll see. It was only time that the trend caught on from the runway to the red carpet. Kareena Kapoor is quite the trend-setter and complimented her monochrome Giorgio Armani outfit with bright orange lips.

Swap your everyday red and pink lipsticks for this punchy colour However, be careful to apply the shade that is best suited for your skin tone. A mid-way melon hue would work well for all skin types. The super bright shades generally tend to look best on darker skin and the more subtle shades with peachy undertones compliment lighter skin tones better.

Balance is key when experimenting with a loud lip colour. Keep eye-make up subtle and non-competing. Go easy on the shadow but create drama with loads of mascara. Needless to say it is the most simple and effective way to brighten any summer look.

Since you have burnt orange, peach, tangerine, apricot, amber, coral, neon to make a selection. I recommend trying on all the shades, maybe even mix to shades to create the shade that works best for you.

M.A.C, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, YSL, Shu Uemura and Estee Lauder all have fantastic shades to choose from.

THE OXBLOOD

Here is a colour that has been making news over the last two years and has been finding loyalists in the Hollywood Glitterati. Closer to home Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have been spotted wearing this deep dark hue.

The "it" shade when it comes to lip colour, the oxblood, is not for the sunny days. In the summer time, I would restrict it to the evenings specially for an event that calls for some power-dressing. The sophisticated wine colour creates an aura that is edgy and alluring at the same time.

As for rest of your make-up smokey or shimmery gold eyes would work well this shade. If you have really thin lips, a dark shade such as this will make your lips appear thinner; so don't skip the lip-linner with this one. Personally I'd like to use the same colour on my nails as well.

M.A.C, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Tom Ford, Nars as well as Dolce & Gabbana have some super lipsticks in this colour.
